Joel Sanford WALKER. Son of Joseph Walker and Mary Ashmore. Born on 14 Jan 1844 in Carroll Co., GA. Joel Sanford died in Jefferson, TX on 1 May 1935; he was 91. Buried in Shiloh Methodist Cemetery, north of Jefferson, TX in Cass Co.

On 6 Apr 1862 when Joel Sanford was 18, he married Martha Elizabeth TOLLESON, daughter of Jesse Elijah TOLLESON Jr. (16 Mar 1821-17 May 1908) & Talitha Jane PRESTON (4 Nov 1824-26 Apr 1902). Born on 14 Oct 1843. Martha Elizabeth died north of Jefferson, TX on 14 Feb 1917; she was 73. Buried in Shiloh Methodist Cemetery, north of Jefferson, TX in Cass Co.
